How to read a peptide COA

What a COA is
A Certificate of Analysis (COA) is a batch-level lab report. It documents analytical results for a specific lot of research material — not a medical product label, and not a guarantee of clinical performance. At Eosyn, COAs support research procurement decisions and lot traceability.
Match the lot number
Before anything else, confirm the lot / batch ID on the vial or packing list matches the COA. A COA only applies to that batch. If identifiers do not match, contact support@eosynlabs.com before using the material in a research protocol.
Identity
Identity testing checks that the sample is consistent with the expected compound (methods may include HPLC, MS, or related techniques depending on the assay panel). Researchers use this to confirm the material aligns with the ordered SKU for laboratory work.
Purity (often HPLC)
Purity is commonly reported as a percentage from chromatographic analysis (for example HPLC). Higher reported purity means fewer detected impurities under that method’s conditions — it is an analytical metric for research quality control, not a dosage or efficacy claim.
Endotoxins & sterility (when listed)
Some research lots include endotoxin and/or sterility-related results. These are laboratory quality metrics. They do not authorize human or veterinary use. Always follow your institution’s handling SOPs for lyophilized research materials.
Heavy metals / residual solvents (when listed)
Panels may include heavy metal screening or residual solvent data. Review limits and methods as your lab’s quality system requires. Keep documentation with your study records.
Appearance & form
COAs often note appearance (for example white to off-white lyophilized powder). Use this as a receiving check only. Unexpected appearance should be escalated through your lab’s nonconformance process and our support channel.
